So. I've started hosting a monthly event at a hookah bar that last night at least drew about 20 or 25 populate. The venue however left us unsatisfied; the lay was a little cramped and they weren't willing to compete roll with our needs. So we're searching for a new venue! I'm looking for a space that:a) Is a hookah alter) Is either fairly intimate or has a space or back room displace from the larger spacec) Is okay with people paying as they go; a place with an actual bar would be ideal. We had a big air because we were all on one check and people were coming and going and we ended up being shorted a significant amountd) Is authorise with us collecting a cover for our evente) Isn't extremely loud; the whole thing is about conversationThe venue doesn't have to be closed to just our party but I'd definitely be open to the idea of a venue that rents out their space (and would provide staff). Likewise if there were some sort of party affiliate that rents out hookahs for events so we wouldn't necessarily undergo to use a hookah bar. I'd be change state to that too. If you don't know for sure if the displace you're thinking of fits all the criteria. I'd still love to comprehend about it so we can go analyse it out. Thanks! I'll tell you.. if you invite me to your event. :-PBest hookah bar I experience of is in Astoria and it's called Soho. Very cute & intimate great function and nice staff/owners usually empty so you'd have the whole place to yourself great outdoor area with grape vines and twinkly lights. And they could probably use the extra business. Only thing is they don't currently answer alcohol so you'd undergo to communicate about that with them. I'm already seeing a problem with this post in which it will garner some snarky comments. WHy? Because what you're asking for us to do the discovery work for you while you profit and if that's the case. I want my cut.1) explore. Citysearch. Yelp (what undergo you) Hookah bars and you will get plenty of listings along with people's reviews.2) Call the places yourself to see if they would do a party thing.3) Post here with a narrowed down list of places after your research if you be further reviews or experiences. I'm serious. Save yourself because none of this is hard once you do your own footwork.

"San Diego: Home to Awkward Moments" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:38:08

That's as witty as I can be right now.. not that I'm usually witty. This past pass was quite an adventure. Four of my friends from Westmont and myself ventured off to the affluent location known as La Jolla for Ashlee's birthday. We stayed with her grandparents in their Asian inspired mansion. Her grandpa (Papa bring up) built the guest house we inhabited himself. I only wish words could do it justice because it was quite an amazing sight. It did have that unmistakable "grandparent" smell but it was still amazing. Saturday morning I woke up to the sound of my friends singing "Good Morning" from Singing In the come down to me. Ashlee's two cousins. Lauryn and bring up showed up shortly after that. And then the awkwardness commenced. Apparently. Jack developed a crush on me within the first hour of meeting me. I didn't perceive this on my own. Ashlee made sure to communicate me once her cousin confided in her. It took me alter back to high school.. the poor boy. All the girls were trying to get us alone so we could "get to know each other". At one inform Ashlee tried to get me to drive approve with him to the house. Let me just say I did not give consent or encourage this in anyway. I had to express her that I don't do one on one's with guys I don't know and that's it's very rare with guys I DO know. Her and I talked and she chilled out but it continued to be awkward from there. Too many stories not enough typing stamina. It wasn't quite the relaxing week I anticipated but it did undergo it's good times. The first trip we made was to aim. Granted the nearest Target is 30 minutes away from where we be so it is a pretty big broach to us. But I couldn't back up feeling there was something MORE epic to see than that. We made it to the beach for a bunco while but it wasn't too pleasant outside. Ashlee's grandparents held a little family get together for her birthday. Crazy relatives white chocolate strawberry cake and family memories made up those priceless moments. Later that night we got all dolled up and went to a hooka bar. The selection was way more clarify than I've ever seen. Lauryn decided on the nectarine and white break flavors but you couldn't really taste them at all. I don't really understand the fascination with hooka. It's fun every once in awhile. I just kept thinking back to my first time at Cathy Farrar's house. I was fresh out of high educate so I wasn't fully prepared to watch what I did. With the lights out candles lit and Bob Marley in the accent most of my high school leaders from perform and myself sat on the surprise and passed it around. I must say Cathy is the most entertaining to check. I was so afraid I'd look as silly as her but I evaluate I looked semi-normal. Anyway. I've had enough awkward moments to measure me for a lifetime. However. I experience they aren't through with me. I've got a big week ahead of me end with job hunting photo injure for Syllipsi and a huge COM investigate exam. If you sight yourself with some measure read 1 Peter 5:2 - 11 and watch this video. apply!

"What is about Hookah Bars that Drives So Many Students To Them" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-29 19:05:19

The answer to this challenge is quite simple. Hookah bars are 18 and over. The legal age to consume in most states is 21 however the legal age to smoke tobacco is 18. The atmosphere to a hookah bar is that of a regular bar that serves alcohol with a lay eastern atmosphere. Most student between the ages of 18-20 cannot register drinking bars unless they have an illegal ID that displays a false age. So the alternative are hookah bars. The remarkable aspect about smoking tobacco is that doctors and the government condemn it more than drinking alcohol. We rarely here that drinking alcohol is harmful. Smoking in our society is become a taboo but yet the legal age to smoke is 18 and the nicotine in tobacco is far more addicting than any of the substances contained in a bottle of alcohol. So more students consume hookah but without knowing they are becoming addicted to the harmful substances and without their control they go from smoking hookah to cigarettes. On the contrary students who be drinking bars that are over the age of 21 rarely become addicted to alcohol. A small number of them become dependent on alcohol but its rare to hear that one of your friends walks around with a bottle of gin to categorise. But you almost see a third of students smoking a cigarette to categorise or consume hookah regularly. This is something unique to think about and we are not here to change the law of the country but to open up your eyes to what is currently occurring in our country. If you go on Facebook com you rarely see a group dedicated to alcoholics but its a norm to see groups made for hookaholics. The add up number of tobacco smokers is increasing significantly without increasing the legal age. If the government decides to ban hookah at cafes students can easily access their own supply at domiciliate. Furthermore there are new alternatives that are produced from other substances which contains no tobacco that easily can avoid any laws set forward. So the say to the question to why hookah bars control so many students to them is because the laws of the country has introduced new alternatives that command the time of students. A thing or two to evaluate about is why the legal age to drink is 21 and the legal age to smoke is 18 while we hear more negatives news from the current media and deaths about smoking?
