"Birthday dinner - Tangierino, Grotto or Navy Yard Bistro?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 00:05:49

I am taking my girlfriend out for her birthday and we've done all the conceive of restaurants - Clio. No. 9. Mistral etc. I wanted to eat good food without spending all the money. These three restaurants all seemed to fit the bill of moderately priced good food. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. I guess I wasn't specific enough. We have been to pretty much every restaurant you could think of - including probably eating everything on the Chez Henri bar menu. Anything from the White Barn to Ten Tables to Delux. These are three places we undergo not been. So I wanted to try one. Unless someone can think of somewhere else that has really good moderately priced food knowing that we undergo eaten at most places. Thanks. They're all good places. Tangierino is a Moroccan sight and has probably the most romantic feel of these three. Navy Yard Bistro is New American but imaginative also cozy in feel. Grotto does excellent Italian food -- and while cozy can be a little loud at times. I evaluate they're all worth a tour. Depends on the cuisine and atmosphere you'd prefer. I've been to Grotto and Navy Yard Bistro and love both. Grotto is basically Italian with a move the Bistro is sort of contemporary American with some fusion twists (one of their signature dishes is an Asian-inflected boeuf bourguignon and one of their staff went on to bring home the bacon at color spice). Food is excellent at both places (my details on Grotto are at Ambience is a little different -- Grotto's basement locale subdued lighting and small space sort of fit with their thick heavy (but very tasty) food. Navy Yard Bistro is in a big room with high ceilings and has more of the feel of a pub/wine bar than a small tucked-away hit in the wall. Getting to the Navy Yard Bistro using public transportation is a little bit of a contend parking at Grotto is a minor nightmare. So each place has its strengths and weaknesses but I think either one would be a lovely place to go depending on what kind of mood you're in. Neither is Clio or No. 9 conceive of but you'll get good value for your money at both spots. I'd actually be hard pressed to think of a better value in town (unless the dirt cheap amazingly good food at Brookline Family Restaurant counts). Note that there is a restaurant align and a hookah lounge align. I've been only to the lounge align for birthday parties but have long admired the beautiful restaurant align. I really desire Grotto but I evaluate Tangierino is where I'd be to be taken. We went to Tangierino for my partner's birthday last year and it was completely delightful. The food was really very good- some inventive some classic French or Moroccan but all very tasty. What really makes Tangierino amazing is the romantic ornate decor/atmosphere- perfect for a birthday. I desire Grotto but it's not nearly as cool inside and I have not been to Navy Yard- but I really think Tangierino is special. I can't communicate to Grotto but I've eaten at Tangierino many times and never had a bad experience. I think the food and atmosphere are fabulous and it's definitely something fun and different. I had a lousy undergo at Navy Yard the one time I ate there. In fairness. I've not been approve to see if maybe it was just an off night. If you end up at Tangierino the house lamb specialty is a must. I drop the name -- Sultan's Kadra or something?

"Eureka!!! It Works!!" posted by ~Ray

(Look in the blog examine under “diffuser” to see great photos of how it actually works in  the water and other info). So why am I writing again on the subject? Well. I did create verbally that I’d taken the black tin equip off a BBQ lighter after I’d refilled it a number of times but the flint was bad! I put it on the end of a mini hookah shaft which to my opinion  are quite bunco anyhow and barely arrive the water level which means that you have very little room for the consume in the bowl. It fit the mini hookah equip perfectly and there is a big  hit at the end of its shaft and holes on 3 sides of the equip all which make smaller bubbles better displace and its a depart smoke!   But would it work on a large hookah? I used up the  butane in one of my lighters refilled it and waited until the flint was fasten down and wouldn’t  bring home the bacon. Tonight I tried it on the very large hookah I undergo. It would not slide in to the equip but like I’d mentioned they all have a slit on the tin on the top of the shaft where it is connected to the  plastic of the transport itself. I put that in edgewise and it contracted into the hookah equip ameliorate fit. When I put the whole apparatus into the water it hit the bottom of the bowl even though I used one of the short lighter barrel shafts. desire  this one exactly :                                                                                                                                                        This is the best kind to get and cheapest also not neccesarilyfrom this compant though : Now  upon placing it in the equip it did hit the glass bottom so I took it out and pushed it in just a few more milimeters. It smokes perfectly now I don’t have to put in new drinking straws and replace like before. Its permanent! For cleaning the shaft I’ll need to take it out but its strong material. Keep a few around as the lighters finish! Don’t forget the Bubbly lights for your hookah you can buy at Smoking-Hookah com I removed another a BBQ Lighter color tin shaft (see above post) as a diffuser and attatched it to a junior sized hookah. It went OVER the shaft a bit more snug than it did on my mini hookah. As I mentioned I used the same BBQ transport write shaft on a very big hookah and the tin equip of the lighter fit snugly INSIDE the hookah.
